That's not a camera...

...this is a camera!

160 Megapixels, 6x17cm sensor, large 640x480 viewing screen, phyiscally frickin' huge!  This is one serious mofo of a camera.

But, since my soul ain't worth US$33K I'm not gettin' this puppy in a hurry.

Update: Seitz, makers of that monster camera, have also released a similar model designed to take panoramic photos.  470 million pixels is a lot.

Ten Movies Every Photographer Should See

Check out the listing of movies here, I have already started by viewing Baraka and I was amazed! (how did this movie/documentary ever slip past me?) Now I just have to put the hard work in and find the other movies.

Yahoo Flickr adds Geotagging

Flickr announced support for geotagging yesterday.  Awesome feature and one that has been a long time coming (I was beginning to think I was going to have to develop it myself!).

Niall has some good insights about the feature, Richard is happy, GigaOm asks why has it taken so long, and many others are talking about it.

I think it's a great feature and I'm damn close to handing over US$25 a year to store all of my photos in Flickr...

Nikon D80 arrives

Finally, the wait is over, the Nikon D80 has arrived! Specs are what everyone expected (10 MP, with D200 metering, AF system and battery) though I'm slightly disappointed to see the rumours about the SD card are true.

Now I've just got to figure out whether I'll upgrade my D100 to the D80 or the D200!

Oh, two new lenses were announced too: an 18-135 AF-S and a 70-300 AF-S VR.

Camera Zip-lock

Camera Zip-lock: "Screw the filter onto the lens, but leave a gap between the two.

You can also do this using two filters and attach the lens later, but that means you're putting more layers of glass and air in front of your lens, so you risk more reflections and worse optical quality.
